Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting as reporter for WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became an anchor for morning news on WCBD TV and also as a crime reporter. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police in DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. This led to the state government imposing more stringent rules in these instances. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell's work in Charleston led her to serve as a co-anchor, reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before joining Access Hollywood she was a anchor on the weekdays and was also the weekend anchor for NBC. O'Dell, as well as being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has co-hosted a variety of Pre-ShowArrivals programs for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. In addition, she hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
